Condition: open box

<p>Every HERO13 Black we sell is an open-box or display unit, not a new camera. This page explains exactly what that means and what we do before a camera ships.</p>

<li>Open-box or display unit. The retail box has been opened. The camera is not refurbished by GoPro and no internal parts have been replaced.</li>
<li>Inspected, cleaned, firmware-updated and test-recorded by POV Depot before it ships.</li>
<li>Light cosmetic marks are possible. They do not affect how the camera works.</li>
<li>Ships with the full retail contents, in the original GoPro box or a plain replacement box.</li>
<li>Covered by our own 1-year limited warranty, not by GoPro.</li>

<h2>1. Where the cameras come from</h2>
<p>Customer returns, display units and overstock with damaged packaging. They are model CHDHX-131-RW, the version sold for the US market.</p>
<h2>2. What we check</h2>
<ul>
<li><strong>Inspected:</strong> body, lens cover, front and rear screens, battery door, USB-C door, mounting fingers and seals. Every button, latch and door is tested.</li>
<li><strong>Cleaned:</strong> lens cover and screens cleaned, ports and door gaskets cleared of dust and grit.</li>
<li><strong>Firmware updated:</strong> the camera is reset to factory settings and updated to the current GoPro firmware, so it pairs with the Quik app like a new unit.</li>
<li><strong>Test-recorded:</strong> we power it on, record in 5.3K and 4K, check playback, charge the battery and confirm it holds charge, and pair Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.</li>
</ul>
<p>A camera that fails any of these checks is not sold as this product.</p>
<h2>3. What you may notice</h2>
<p>Fine scratches or scuffs on the body, lens cover or box are possible. Cameras with a cracked screen, a cracked or deeply scratched lens cover, a damaged door, or any sign of water damage do not ship. The battery is tested but is a used battery; capacity may be slightly below a new one.</p>
<h2>4. Packaging and contents</h2>
<p>The camera ships in the original GoPro box or a plain replacement box with protective packing. Contents: HERO13 Black camera, Enduro battery (1900 mAh), curved adhesive mount, mounting buckle and thumb screw, USB-C cable. No microSD card is included, the same as the new retail camera.</p>
<h2>5. Photos on this site</h2>
<p>Product photos on this site are stock images of the model. They show the design of the camera, not the specific unit you will receive.</p>
<h2>6. Warranty and returns</h2>
